Job Summary
Machinists work in a fast-paced environment, setting up and operating various machines to produce high-quality parts. This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate manual, CNC, and special machines to machine parts and assemblies.
* Read and interpret drawings, sketches, specifications, and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece.
* Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
* Perform practical problem-solving of machining issues regarding process and/or programming.
Requirements
This position requires prior experience in a machine shop, preferably 3-5 years, or a trade school certificate in Precision Machining or Computer Aided Manufacturing. Current students in a related program are also encouraged to apply.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role include sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle and feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing. The employee may occasionally be required to crouch and lift items as heavy as 50lbs. Specific vision abilities include the ability to see near and far distances.
