We’re seeking a strategic and results‑driven Program Director to lead one of the Department’s largest business transformation initiatives – the Portfolio and Financial Management Improvement (PFMI) Program. This is a high‑impact role where you’ll shape governance, financial management, and portfolio performance practices across Queensland’s education infrastructure.
You’ll be part of a forward‑thinking division responsible for managing a $40 billion asset base and delivering a $2 billion annual capital works program. This program is critical to uplifting infrastructure management maturity and ensuring long‑term success.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic leadership and vision for the PFMI Program, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
* Overseeing delivery of multiple interrelated projects, including portfolio governance, P3O model establishment, and capital financial management improvements.
* Driving change management strategies and organisational readiness for program outcomes.
* Managing program governance, risk, and financial performance to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
* Leading and mentoring a high‑performing team of project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts.
About You:
You’re an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in delivering complex programs within large organisations. You bring strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
You’ll bring:
* Extensive experience in infrastructure portfolio/program/project management or capital financial management.
* Demonstrated success in leading business transformation programs.
* Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire teams and drive accountability.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
* Experience in government or large‑scale infrastructure environments (highly regarded).
