With the expansion of our operations, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, driving budgeting and forecasting processes, and partnering with operational and commercial teams to provide meaningful financial insights.
You will play a key role in month-end and year-end processes, statutory compliance, and audit support, while also identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
This is a highly cooperative position, working across multiple business units and projects, providing both hands-on financial management and strategic support to senior leaders.About the rolePrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and variance analysis.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, tax obligations, and internal controls.Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and credit card reconciliations.Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and manage fixed asset registers.Assist with budgeting, reforecasting, cash flow forecasting, and long-term planning (e.g. life-of-mine plans).
Work closely with operations, projects, commercial, and senior management teams to provide financial insights.Conduct cost, margin, profitability, and risk analysis to support decision-making.Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and business case modelling as required.Identify and implement process automation and efficiency improvements across finance functions.Support ERP and financial system enhancements, implementations, and training for staff.Review payroll project charges and overhead analysis to ensure accuracy.Manage project and business unit cash flow, providing insights into working capital requirements.Mentor and support finance/admin team members as required.About youTo be successful with TCD, the ideal candidate will have:5+ years progressive accounting and leadership experience;Civil Construction industry experience – advantageous but not essential;Professional Accounting Body Qualification and Membership – CPA/CAANZAttention to detail and high ethical standards;Strong knowledge of financial laws, regulations, and best practices;Advanced level in Microsoft Office softwareStrong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills;Strong interpersonal skills; andExcellent organisational and communication skills.If you are interested in applying for the above position, please click 'Apply' and submit an up-to-date resume and cover letter.TCD strive to employ applicants who reflect diversity of gender, culture and experience.
