We’re on the lookout for a Quality & Safety Manager to lead the oversight and continuous improvement of quality and safety systems within our Australian AMO, based at our Mareeba headquarters. You’ll help ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with industry standards, while making a real impact in communities that need it most.
We are MAF, a Christian organisation using aviation and technology to bring help, hope, and healing to some of the world’s most isolated communities since 1945. We operate in 31 countries with a fleet of 117 aircraft, providing lifesaving transport for medical personnel, aid workers, and development teams, and delivering Bibles, church resources, and essential supplies to remote communities.
What We’re Looking For
We need an experienced Quality & Safety Manager to lead the effort in ensuring our operations meet the highest safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. If you enjoy developing safety strategies, implementing quality controls, and making a meaningful difference in aviation, this is your role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality and Safety Management Systems within the Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO).
- Develop, implement, and refine quality and safety policies aligned with industry best practices and regulations.
- Keep quality and safety manuals and procedures up to date.
- Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards.
- Train, coach, and educate staff on best practices to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify risks and opportunities for corrective actions.
- Investigate quality and safety incidents and turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions.

Requirements
- Meet or be prepared to meet CASA requirements for this role.
- Experience within a Quality and/or Safety Management System.
- Experienced aircraft maintenance engineer.
- Previous experience within a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.
Desirable Requirements
- ICAO Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License.
- Degree or equivalent education in any field.
- Experience in Quality and/or Safety Management systems.
- Training in root cause analysis, incident investigation techniques, auditing, and post-accident actions.
- Training in continuous improvement and lean processes.
