Our largest partner, My Gut Care, includes several gastroenterologists and continues to expand rapidly, with new specialists joining QGOS across multiple sites.
Marsden Family Doctors is a busy General practice with multiple GP's. As part of our growth, we are seeking multiple Medical Receptionists and one Registered Nurse (RN) who are professional, organised, patient-focused and thrive in a busy healthcare environment.

* Marsden

Roles Available
* Medical Receptionists (Ipswich and Marsden)
* Registered Nurse – GP Clinic (Marsden)
* Practice manager – GP Clinic (Marsden)
We welcome applicants who wish to be considered for either role or both if suitably qualified.
Please note that nursing qualifications are required for some positions only, specifically the Registered Nurse role.
For the Practice Manager role, minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience is Preferred.
Key Responsibilities (Medical Receptionist)
Front Desk & Patient Service
* Greet patients professionally and ensure a welcoming experience
* Check in patients and manage waiting room flow
* Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries
* Schedule and manage appointments efficiently
Records & Administration
* Maintain accurate patient records using electronic systems
* Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy legislation
* Scan, prepare letters, reports, and other documentation
* Support clinicians with general administrative duties
* Training will be provided on electronic medical record systems and relevant software
Billing & Accounts
* Verify Medicare/insurance details
* Process payments, receipts, and billing enquiries
* Assist with claims submissions
General Duties
* Keep the reception and waiting areas tidy
* Assist with daily operational tasks as needed
Key Responsibilities (Registered Nurse – GP Clinic)
* Perform clinical duties including observations, ECGs, vaccinations, wound care
* Assist with chronic disease management and care plans
* Support GPs with minor procedures
* Support Enrolled nurses
* Maintain cold chain, infection control and clinical governance standards
* Provide patient education and follow-up support
* Work collaboratively with practice management and reception team
Key Responsibilities (GP Practice Manager)
Practice Operations & Patient Flow
* Oversee smooth daily operations of the GP clinic, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimal waiting times.
* Manage appointment books for multiple GPs, nurse clinics, walk-ins, care plans, health assessments, and urgent slots.
* Ensure reception, clinical rooms, and waiting areas are well organised and patient‑friendly.
Staff Supervision & HR Management
* Lead and supervise receptionists, nurses, and administrative staff.
* Create and manage staff rosters, leave schedules, and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
* Conduct onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management to maintain accountability and high standards.
* Promote a positive team culture and resolve staff issues professionally and promptly.
Medicare, Billing & Financial Administration
* Oversee all Medicare billing (item numbers, care plans, health assessments, mental health plans, chronic disease management).
* Monitor billing accuracy, daily reconciliations, banking, and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with Medicare rules, bulk billing processes, DVA claims, and private billing policies.
* Support directors with budgeting, financial tracking, and cost‑effective purchasing.
Clinical Compliance & Quality Standards
* Ensure the clinic meets RACGP standards, accreditation requirements, and infection control policies.
* Maintain accurate and secure patient records following privacy and confidentiality laws.
* Oversee management of recalls, reminders, results follow‑ups, and clinical documentation workflows.
* Maintain registers (immunisation, cervical screening, chronic disease, wound care, etc.).
Stakeholder Coordination
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, allied health, pathology, and external service providers (e.g., PHN).
* Assist with onboarding new doctors, provider number applications, PRODA setup, and credentialing.
* Liaise with IT support, software vendors, suppliers, and service contractors.
Patient Experience & Issue Resolution
* Ensure high‑quality patient service at the front desk and on phones.
* Address patient complaints or concerns calmly and professionally.
* Monitor Google reviews and help maintain a positive practice reputation.
Systems & Software Management
* Oversee effective use of practice software (e.g., Best Practice, Gentu, HotDoc).
* Troubleshoot common IT issues and support staff with training on software and workflows.
* Implement digital health tools such as electronic prescriptions, My Health Record, and secure messaging.
Quality Improvement & Reporting
* Review and improve practice processes and SOPs regularly.
* Track KPIs such as patient wait times, DNA rates, billing performance, CDM activity, and staff productivity.
* Provide regular updates and performance reports to practice owners.
* Minimum 1-2 years of relevant management experience in healthcare or practice management is Preferred.

* For RN role: AHPRA registration (requirement), GP experience preferred
* Current AHPRA registration is required at the time of application for the Registered Nurse role.
