KW Automation are a family owned manufacturing business located at Palmwoods, on the Sunshine Coast. We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter with welding experience to join our team on the Sunshine Coast.
Assembly Fitter :
The main focus of the Fitter role is to support KW Automation with the production of equipment to industries such as agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture by producing automated process equipment.
Based on the style of machinery that we manufacture, the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience assembling process/packaging equipment, you will need exceptional mechanical fitting skills, technical equipment assembly, and equipment commissioning and servicing skills.
In addition to the above experience, there will also need to be onsite work at times with our clients around the country. This will be on average 1-2 months spread across the year as needed. This will also be planned in advance.
Key Duties:
* Interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Tig/Mig Weld stainless steel components is not essential but will be beneficial
* Ability to use hand and power tools
* Ensure all products meet the required specifications through quality checks
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Training duties as needed
* Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Skill Sets Required:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in assembly of equipment
* Ability to read and interpret technical 2D and 3D drawings
* Exceptional mechanical fitting skills
* Exceptional technical equipment assembly skills
* Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
* Equipment commissioning skills
* Proven problem solver
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
* Fast learner and adaptable.
* Ability to travel to assist with installations and service.
* Flexibility to be able to work Over-time when needed.
* Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics and mechatronics is advantageous
* Valid Australian driver's licence (minimum Class C) required for interstate travel
* Current forklift licence is advantageous
