Position Overview
As the Production Estimator, you will manage the estimating requirements for projects during the production and construction phase. Your work ensures accurate job costing, timely purchase orders, and compliant documentation once a project has moved beyond initial estimating and is ready for delivery.
In this role, you will review plans and specifications, evaluate materials, labour, and equipment, and prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for new home builds. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants across a diverse project portfolio, from custom residential builds to light commercial and infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare BOQs and cost plans for custom homes, townhouses & duplexes
* Tender submissions for both D&C and construction-only contracts
* Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to gather quotes, scopes, and schedules
* Participate in design feasibility and value engineering discussions
* Maintain and update pricing databases and assist in post-tender reviews
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and compliance standards
Skills and Experience
* Proven production estimating experience in residential, multi‑unit, or custom/commercial construction. Minimum 3 years experience in Residential Construction
* Expertise in estimating software including Builder Trend (preferred), CostX, Cubit, Bluebeam or Buildsoft
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with pricing databases
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
* High attention to detail, methodical thinking, and time management ability is critical for this role
