Key Responsibilities
The Research Infrastructure Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and supporting the information systems infrastructure of our R&D laboratory.
This position involves close collaboration with the SGRNA IT Manager, ITSNA group, and local research teams to ensure seamless operation of network, computer, and analytical test equipment.
Primary Duties:
1. Site data room management: Develop, implement, and troubleshoot computer resources and associated infrastructure.
2. Technical support: Provide assistance for computer systems, software, hardware, and networks; act as a liaison between central IT and R&D teams.
3. User account management: Create and manage Active Directory user accounts and security groups; maintain local VM servers and ensure system security and patching.
4. Vendor coordination: Work with vendors and stakeholders to diagnose and resolve IT issues promptly, minimizing downtime.
5. Backup and recovery services: Provide backup and recovery services for laboratory computer systems.
6. System implementation: Assist with computer system specifications and implementation, ensuring security and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
7. Project coordination: Coordinate project progress with central IT and manage delays for R&D projects.
8. Documentation and logging: Maintain logs of support requests and document system configurations for ongoing support.
