Sight Specialists is a specialist ophthalmology clinic located in Southport, Gold Coast. Since opening in 2021, it has become SEQ's leading clinic, offering state‐of‐the‐art eye care in a personalised, patient‐centred manner.
Position
We are hiring a full‐time Practice Manager with an immediate start. The role requires a highly organised team player with strong people‐management skills, a customer‐service focus, and a proactive, problem‐solving attitude.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead structured staff performance reviews, coaching, and appraisal to drive professional growth.
* Resolve staff grievances promptly, aiming for resolution within two weeks.
* Recruit, interview and onboard new team members to maintain adequate staffing.
* Manage rostering, leave, and timesheet verification.
* Oversee patient flow, resolve equipment or staffing disruptions, and maintain clinical operations.
* Maintain and evolve practice policies, ensuring compliance with Australian health‐care regulations and the HPSS Award.
* Act as first point of contact for IT and ophthalmic equipment troubleshooting.
* Oversee billing systems, debtor management and financial integrity.
* Represent the practice in external engagements, maintaining a professional image.
Qualifications
* 3–5+ years in medical practice management or healthcare administration, private ophthalmology experience preferred.
* Demonstrated success in people management, coaching and HR.
* Experience with EHR systems and practice‐management software.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
* Knowledge of HPSS Award, Fair Work Act and Australian health‐care funding rules.
* Experience in billing systems and insurance exception management.
* Right to work in Australia.
Desirable Experience
* Diploma of Practice Management or Health Administration qualifications.
* Experience in private ophthalmology or fast‐paced outpatient clinics.
