headspace Mackay is a youth service and is run under lead agency North and West Remote Health to deliver services to youth aged 12 – 25 years. We're looking for a passionate, experienced, and dedicated person to join our team
headspace Mackay is now seeking a full-time Mental Health Clinician to join their team in Mackay. You will be responsible for promoting evidence-based clinical practice and supporting team members in the clinical decision-making process regarding the care provided to young people.
As an integral part of the team, you will provide psychological interventions and clinical assessments to young people presenting with low-moderate mental health concerns. Working in collaboration with the Mackay Clinical Lead and Centre Manager, you will determine the appropriate clinical pathway for young people who access the service.
This position will contribute to the development of early intervention youth mental health services as well as participate in regular case review meetings to support appropriate care for all clients entering the service.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Suitable professions include:
* Registered Psychologist; or
* Social Worker
* Mental Health Nurse
* Mental Health Occupational Therapist
In addition, you will need:
* Degree level qualifications in professional counselling or a social work or psychology discipline.
* Minimum 2 years' experience working as a qualified mental health professional.
* Experience and solid knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services and the ability to support new graduate practitioners towards independent mental health practice.
* Knowledge of and experience working within the Family Systems Theory, Trauma Informed Care and the delivery of systemically informed care to young people and their families.
* A current, unrestricted 'C' class Australian Driver's Licence; and
* The right to live and work in Australia
* Experience in providing direct supervision to other team members
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundationproviding early intervention mental health services to 12–25-year old's, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.
