Responsibilities
* Designing and fine‑tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) using SFT, PEFT/LoRA/QLoRA, distillation, and implementing RLHF/DPO/RLAIF with defined reward models and feedback pipelines.
* Building evaluation frameworks for task quality, grounding, robustness, safety (toxicity, bias, privacy), including offline and online A/B testing with guardrail metrics.
* Developing retrieval‑augmented workflows, agentic patterns, policy‑driven tool use, safe function calling, memory/state management, and resilient fallbacks under guardrails.
* Demonstrating strong consulting skills with a focus on responsible AI practices, threat modelling, privacy and ethics compliance in the Australian context, and effective client collaboration for Proof of Concept (PoC) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) delivery.
Qualifications
* Strong deep learning and natural language processing (NLP) skills with PyTorch (or JAX), Transformers, PEFT/LoRA/QLoRA, and fundamentals in probability, statistics, and experimental design.
* Experience building and maintaining evaluation suites for quality, robustness, bias/toxicity, and jailbreak resistance with offline and online testing.
* Proficiency in Python programming.
* Optional expertise in retrieval (hybrid search, rerankers), knowledge graphs, policy‑driven agentic workflows, and privacy‑preserving machine learning techniques.
