Position Summary

The Legal Officer will serve as the primary in-house resource for managing legal risks, drafting agreements, and ensuring the company operates within the law. This role requires a blend of sharp legal expertise and business acumen to help the company grow safely.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Day-to-Day Management
* Direct Assistance: Execute legal tasks and projects as specifically assigned by the Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal).
* Document Preparation: Prepare initial drafts of legal opinions, briefs, contracts, notices and correspondence for review and final approval by the Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal).
* Legal Research: Conduct deep-dive research into specific legal issues or new legislation and provide concise summaries to Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal).
* Case Management: Assist Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal) in managing ongoing litigation files, including gathering evidence, organizing exhibits, and tracking court dates.
* Liaison Work: Serve as the point of contact between the Legal Department and other internal departments to collect information required by Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal).
* Administrative Support: Maintain the legal database, track contract renewal dates, and ensure all documents are signed and filed according to the Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal)'s standards. Diligently follow all instructions and project assignments delegated by the Company Lawyer 1 (Head of Legal).
Qualifications
* Degree: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited university.
* Certification: Must be a licensed Lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
* Experience: 2-3 years of legal practice, preferably with a mix of law firm experience and in-house corporate roles.
* Office IT Tools
* MS Word: Mastery of formatting, track changes, "Compare Documents" features, and table of contents (essential for long contracts).
* MS Excel: Ability to maintain legal trackers, litigation calendars, and contract expiry databases.
* Presentation Tools: Proficiency in PowerPoint to prepare summary reports or compliance training materials.
