Overview

RoadTek Wide Bay Operations are seeking a high performing and innovative Project Engineer to join the civil team on a permanent basis. RoadTek is a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads, providing transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. Responsibilities

* Learn how to manage projects throughout their life cycle using project management tools, including planning, budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling, and reviewing priorities.
* Assist in the preparation of design processes to ensure compliance and successful project delivery.
* Serve as estimator for bids/offers undertaken by the Works Centre.
* Assist with procurement of road‐making materials and project services.
* Utilise problem‐solving abilities and professional judgment to investigate, analyse and conceptualise possible concepts to meet design objectives.
* Identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to design briefs where necessary to achieve acceptance.
* Liaise and consult a range of internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to road infrastructure development activities.
* Develop leadership and management abilities through on‐the‐job opportunities.
* Present technical training sessions on standard specifications for relevant project staff.

Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions

* Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.
* A Washington Accord accredited four‐year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
* Valid Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent.
* A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards may be required throughout the State.
* TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces, including random, post‐incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

* Is aware of personal strengths and weaknesses, takes account of these when acting, and is committed to self‐development and continuous improvement, seeking feedback and learning from experience.
