Job Title: Environmental Health Officer
We are seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our community's well-being.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and enforcing statutory food, public and environmental health risk and evidence-based programs, ensuring Council meets its responsibilities under legislation to provide the community with a health-supportive urban environment.
About this Role:
* To protect and improve public and environmental health by implementing complex investigations of public and environmental health threats;
* To undertake inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations;
* To provide accurate and specialised advice to stakeholders;
* To issue lawful approvals and notices as required;
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough investigations of public and environmental health concerns;
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with public health threats;
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control disease outbreaks;
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective delivery of services;
• Provide training and education to stakeholders on public health issues;
2. Maintain accurate records and databases related to public health matters;
• Analyze data and develop reports to inform policy decisions;
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge;
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to public health;
