Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Process income, expenditure, invoices, and reimbursements
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain the general ledger
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Board
• Prepare the financial statements, assist with audit & AGM reporting
• Support compliance with funding, grant, and regulatory requirements
• Identify and flag financial risks or discrepancies
• Liaise with auditors and external accountants as required
Essential
:
• Experience with accounting software, preferably MYOB or XERO
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar finance role
• Experience in a not-for-profit, community, or volunteer-led organisation
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
• Ability to work collaboratively with a Board and Executive Office
Desirable
:
• Previous experience as a Board Treasurer, Accountant or Bookkeeper
• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping
• Understanding of governance and risk management in incorporated associations
Time Commitment
• Approx. 4–8 hours per week with flexibility to work from home
• Flexible hours, with some additional time around EOFY, audit, or AGM
• With occasional online or in-person meetings
