The role
As a Lead Graphic Designer, you will:
- Lead and develop a high‐performing design team, managing workflow, priorities and delivery to tight timeframes while maintaining high creative and accessibility standards.
- Create and oversee high‐impact visual communications, including publications, digital assets, infographics and data visualisations that bring complex information to life.
- Provide expert design advice and brand stewardship across ASIC, partnering with senior stakeholders and ensuring consistency with style, branding and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools and ways of working, including demonstrated experience in using AI tools, and digital workflow tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar—to improve visibility, prioritisation and team delivery.
About you
You're a confident and inclusive people leader with strong experience leading and engaging diverse teams and building high‐performing design capability in a complex environment. You'll also bring relevant tertiary qualifications in graphic design or visual communication, alongside significant professional experience delivering high‐quality design outcomes at scale.
You will also demonstrate:
- Accountability for end‐to‐end design delivery, overseeing high‐quality outputs across print, digital, social and multimedia channels
- Expert stewardship of brand, accessibility and design standards, ensuring all outputs meet ASIC guidelines and WCAG requirements
- Strong capability in data visualisation and complex content translation, turning technical information into clear, engaging visual stories
- A continuous‐improvement mindset, driving smarter workflows, effective use of AI, design and workflow tools and productive engagement with external suppliers
