NT Hearing Services
Alice Springs
One full time vacancy fixed to 30/06/2028 is available
Apply your clinical expertise as a hearing healthcare specialist nurse to provide sound professional advice and develop comprehensive care plans.
The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.
Located in Alice Springs, NT Hearing Services works collaboratively with Aboriginal communities, health organisations, and early childhood personnel to deliver hearing healthcare in regional and remote communities.
As a Clinical Specialist Nurse (Hearing Services), your primary objective is to provide collaborative, appropriate, proficient, coordinated direct and indirect clinical care for complex client presentations, including working with and alongside less experienced nursing and midwifery staff, within Hearing Services. This involves working collaboratively with Aboriginal communities, health organisations including Aboriginal community-controlled Health Services, and early childhood personnel to coordinate hearing health care services in regional and remote communities in Central Australian.
Your highly developed clinical knowledge and specialist skills in delivering hearing healthcare services and your ability to promote a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and mentoring will ensure your success in this crucial role. To provide services you will be required to travel to remote communities in light aircraft, or 4-wheel drive for periods of up to 5 days.
In return, you will enjoy the benefits of a competitive remuneration with salary packaging options, 12% Superannuation, up to 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, and an opportunity to further your professional development in NT Health. Generous allowances and support with relocation will be provided.
If you reside interstate, this a great time to consider relocating to Central Australia. Alice Springs is the third-largest town in the Northern Territory, with a population of approximately 33,000 people. The Region has deep spiritual origins dating back more than 30,000 years, and an abundance of rich culture and history. The town is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including the MacDonnell Ranges and the Red Centre Desert. About 450kms down the road is Uluru, a large sandstone rock formation that is a spectacular sight any time of the year
