About the Role

Based in Sydney the State Manager - NSW & ACT is responsible for providing leadership of the NSW Office and overseeing all PSA NSW and ACT associated member program delivery functions, with a strong focus on state and territory–based policy and strategy activities.

The role requires a high level of engagement with key stakeholders, including PSA members, state and territory governments, and health system partners across NSW and the ACT, to represent and progress PSA's policy positions and strategic priorities at a state and territory level. The State Manager will also play an integral role in the development and implementation of nationally agreed programs and services, ensuring alignment with PSA's nationally agreed strategy.

The NSW Office helps to facilitate a wide range of member services, including professional development activities that may range from single lectures to extended courses and conferences. In the role, you will

* Be responsible for shaping and progressing state and territory policy positions, including contributing to submissions and reform processes, and represent PSA's agreed policy positions to governments, stakeholders and, where appropriate, the media. This includes maintaining strong, trusted relationships with state and territory governments, professional organisations and key health system partners to support effective policy influence and reform
* Strengthen engagement with PSA members through strategic oversight of local member services and initiatives, supporting professional development, practice support and Communities of Special Interest, and contributing to the growth, retention and engagement of PSA membership at both a state and national level.
* Contribute to the identification and development of strategic partnerships, funding and business opportunities that support PSA's objectives, and work collaboratively across PSA to support the effective delivery and uptake of programs, products and services
* Support PSA's governance arrangements at a state level, including providing secretariat support to Branch Committees in accordance with the Constitution, and ensures compliance with workplace health and safety obligations
