The Hospital
You will be part of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, working across Rockhampton Hospital (305 beds) and Gladstone Hospital (83 beds).
* Rockhampton Hospital is a major regional referral centre with state-of-the-art facilities, including a newly established cancer care unit. It offers a full range of specialties including Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, ICU, Surgery, and more, and is actively involved in registrar training and medical education.
* Gladstone Hospital provides a mix of general and specialist services, including emergency, surgery, maternity, and high dependency care, offering a well-rounded clinical experience.
Together, these hospitals support a wide regional network, giving you exposure to a diverse patient population and varied clinical presentations.
The Role
You will play a key role in the management of acute and complex medical patients.
You will:
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical care under senior supervision
* Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and urgent presentations
* Develop and implement comprehensive management plans
* Work closely within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to optimise patient outcomes
* Participate in teaching, training, and clinical education
* Contribute to patient flow, documentation, and continuity of care
This role offers excellent exposure to General Medicine, Emergency presentations, and subspecialties.
