Position: Infrastructure Engineer
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will work within the Civil Solutions Infrastructure Team to assemble, deploy, configure, commission, and support complex ICT infrastructure components to meet project and internal requirements for Civil Solutions projects. Your role focuses on implementing and administering DevOps tools and cloud infrastructure supporting software development and deployment. You will collaborate closely with Software and Systems Engineering teams to achieve project goals. Success in this role requires high motivation, organization, critical thinking, and strong technical writing and communication skills.
Specific Accountabilities:
1. Become competent in deploying ICT infrastructure components using COTS software and hardware.
2. Responsible for installing and configuring infrastructure components according to approved designs and documentation.
3. Proactively progress work, contribute, and coordinate to ensure successful service delivery.
4. Promote a "Customer First" culture within the team.
5. Review documents, configurations, and artefacts for compliance with requirements.
6. Create documentation to record design decisions and implementation details.
7. Assist remote site rollout teams.
8. Travel for deployment and commissioning during project phases.
9. Develop strong working relationships with project, software, support, and engineering teams.
10. Maintain technical documentation related to DevOps tools and cloud platforms.
11. Contribute to modernization and R&D projects.
12. Deploy software for trials and demonstrations.
13. Integrate Civil Solutions software with third-party software.
14. Estimate, plan, and monitor progress on work tasks.
15. Support others as part of a rotating on-call roster, including out-of-hours support (optional).
16. Comply with legislation and company policies on safety, non-discrimination, and quality management.
17. Travel interstate and overseas; work at sites such as correctional or detention facilities; hold a Class C Driver's License.
18. Work site attendance required for extended periods on a rotational basis.
19. Respect and communicate openly with team members and managers; make fair decisions.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
* Install and configure networking infrastructure.
* Manage firewall and security products.
* Configure network admission control hardware/software.
* Support server virtualization solutions.
* Support Windows Server products.
* Implement infrastructure monitoring, backup, and recovery solutions.
* Manage workstation configurations and licensing.
* Experience with SolarWinds and similar management tools.
* Support PCoIP, Thin clients, SNMP monitoring.
* Manage licenses across sites.
* Apply principles of configuration, change, release, and deployment management.
* Knowledge of verification, testing, automation, and scripting.
Educational Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
* Construction Industry White Card or ability to obtain.
* Security Installers License for Australia and New Zealand or ability to obtain.
