About the role
We have an opportunity for a Training & Checking Pilot – Fixed Wing to be part of our Aviation Command, State Operations & Emergency Management Command. The role provides direct support to the Head of Training and Checking (Fixed Wing) in the day-to-day management of currency and competence of pilot personnel by way of checking that all Fixed Wing pilots are appropriately qualified for their roles, and that qualifications are current. This is done by assisting with training where necessary with part of this role being conversant with all facets of Fixed Wing operations in order to accurately deliver training and subsequently assess Fixed Wing pilots.
The successful candidates must hold the following requirements:
* Valid Class 1 Medical
* Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) aeroplane
* Hold a Command Instrument Rating (Aeroplane)
* Obtain and maintain a Flight Instructor Rating (Aeroplane)
* Demonstrated ability to maintain and ensure compliance with Part 135 / Part 138 Training and Checking System
* 2000 hours PIC on aeroplanes
* 500 hours experience of turbine-powered on aeroplanes
* Low level experience on aeroplanes
You have the opportunity to be a member of the NSW Police Force Aviation Command, the primary law enforcement and search and rescue agency for the state of NSW.
A NSW Fixed Wing Pilot is required to operate across the state of NSW in a high risk team environment, responding to law enforcement, Counter Terrorism and Search & Rescue missions. This position provides the most varied, exciting and disciplined type flying within NSW.
