The Accounts Payable Officer will be part of a collaborative, customer-focused team and will provide a professional and efficient level of service. The role entails data entry into WorkDay to process the purchasing requests across the university, as well as master supplier updates.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Meeting month-end processing deadlines in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Liaise with all external stakeholders including suppliers to resolve queries, prepare statement reconciliations, follow up on overdue invoices and facilitate master data change requests as required.
- Provide high level customer service, analysis and problem solving, guidance, advice and ensure enquiries are addressed promptly and accurately in line with University policies and procedures and external regulations.
- Monitor and adhere to fluctuating banking rules relating to overseas payments regarding complicated currency variations and adjustments relating to forward contracts, hedged funds, spot rates, overseas banks and external system requirements.
- Highlight opportunities and make recommendations for improvement for the Division's financial processes and initiate own continuous improvement activities.
**To be successful, you'll have**:
- Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience as a Technician; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Strong knowledge of standard procedures for processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Understanding how to support internal and external stakeholders with inquiries and issue resolution related to payments.
- Experience in a large organisation with established financial systems and procedures.
