About This Opportunity
The Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) Manager is responsible for leading the operational delivery of the University's CSOC, safeguarding information assets, people, and strategic capabilities from cyber threats. Working within a high-performing, collaborative team, the role provides expert leadership, fosters a strong security culture, and ensures the effective management of cyber security operations, services, and vendor relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing expert leadership to the CSOC team, ensuring effective delivery of cyber security operations and continuous improvement of services.
* Driving proactive incident detection, management, and remediation to protect the University's information assets and operational capabilities.
* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, authorities, vendors, and international security peers to enhance the University's cyber security posture.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant cyber security policies, standards, governance protocols, and legislative requirements.

About You
You will be an experienced IT security leader with the technical expertise, strategic mindset, and people skills to drive the effective delivery of the University's Cyber Security Operations Centre. You bring a proven ability to manage complex security environments, inspire high-performing teams, and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to protect critical information assets and capabilities.
You will also demonstrate:
* Postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards) in IT or a related field, with extensive relevant experience in cyber security.
* Significant IT industry experience with strong knowledge across system architecture, network protocols, online service delivery, and application security.
* Demonstrated success in managing and motivating IT teams in dynamic and evolving environments.
* Strong analytical and forensic skills to assess complex problems, lead investigations, and deliver effective remediation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels while maintaining confidentiality.
* Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies, research, and best practices, and maintaining strong professional networks across the cyber security community.
* A self-motivated, positive, and outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and innovative solutions.
