Your day in the life of a Senior Corporate Counsel at Optus As a Senior Corporate Counsel, you will be a trusted advisor, providing world-class legal advice to support the Optus Enterprise business.
You will engage in a variety of responsibilities, ensuring that all operations are legally compliant and facilitating commercial decision-making processes.
Lead significant projects, ensuring flawless legal support for complex and challenging initiatives.Provide expert legal advice on issues related to telecommunications, security, cloud-led ICT, and collaboration services, with a core focus on enterprise-scale commercial contracting deals.Continuously improve legal support through proactive monitoring of legal developments.Coordinate and improve the provision of legal services for the Business Area.
Your skills to pay the bills To excel in this role, you will need proven expertise in commercial law ideally gained in the telecommunications and ICT sectors.
Your ability to manage high-stakes negotiations and influence business decisions is critical.
Significant experience in a reputable commercial law firm and, preferably, in-house.Outstanding ability to confidently advise on large-scale commercial and government transactions and complex projects.Strong knowledge of privacy, intellectual property, competition and ESG laws.
Knowledge of telecommunications law preferable.Strong capabilities in facilitating contract approvals and managing regulatory complianceProven track record of mentoring and coaching other legal professionals.
