As Coordinator Financial Accounting, you'll lead core financial accounting functions and support strategic decision‐making through accurate reporting, strong controls, and clear financial insight.
You'll oversee general ledger integrity, financial reporting cycles, audit coordination, taxation obligations, and financial compliance across a complex public sector environment. You'll also guide and support a small finance team, ensuring capability, accuracy, and continuous improvement are always moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead monthly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards
2. Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and internal control frameworks
3. Coordinate external audit processes and ensure smooth audit deliveryManage statutory reporting including BAS, FBT, and other compliance requirements
4. Support budgeting, long‐term financial planning, and forecasting activities
5. Oversee treasury functions including cash flow, investments, and loan administration
6. Supervise accounts payable escalation processes and support finance staff capability
7. Maintain and improve financial systems, policies, and procedures
8. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies
9. Provide high‐level financial advice to managers and stakeholders across the organisation
About You
You're a qualified accounting professional who's comfortable operating in complexity and accountable environments.
* CPA/CA qualification (or working towards)
* Strong experience in financial and management accounting
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a finance function
* Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance
* Experience with financial systems, reconciliations, and reporting cycles
* A steady hand during audit and month‐end pressure points
