About the role
HMPG Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Machinist - Cylindrical & Surface Grinder to join our talented team in Cheltenham, Victoria. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for performing high-precision machining and grinding operations to ensure the manufacture of quality products that meet our exacting standards.
What you'll be doing
* Operate cylindrical and surface grinding machines to produce complex parts to tight tolerances
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine job requirements
* Set up and operate grinding equipment safely and efficiently
* Monitor production and make any necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality
* Maintain detailed records of all grinding operations
* Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of grinding machines
* Work as part of a team to support the broader manufacturing objectives
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Machinist - Cylindrical & Surface Grinder, ideally within a manufacturing environment
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in machining and grinding operations is required
* Strong working knowledge of grinding techniques, procedures and safety practices
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Trade qualification in Fitting, Turning & Machining or equivalent
