With a strong legacy, Darlot is focused on the future, optimising production and driving exploration programs to extend the mine's lifespan and uncover new resources. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to UG Shift Supervisor, the Nipper will be Responsible for assisting the mining team to achieve daily operational targets while working closely with Jumbo drill operators to ensure that all tasks are carried out in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This role requires effective communication, organization, compliance with site procedures, and a strong commitment to the Vault Minerals Zero Harm principles.
This position will be offered on an 7 nights on, 7 days on, 14 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Promote and maintain a culture of safety, adhering to Vault Minerals' safety standards.
* Safe transportation, delivery and set up of ground support and other jumbo development related activities in line with shift plan.
* Demonstrate good organization skills, understand the heading priorities, and work with the jumbo drillers to prevent delays.
* Set up development headings as per the Mining Instructions in a timely manner.
* Display a high level of standard to housekeeping within the work area, with LV and storage areas.
* Manage inventory of ground support in the storage areas and report to shift supervisor any concerns as soon as you become aware
* Provide reliable and accurate assistance and practical application to minimise down time and potential loss of production within the development mining team
* Ensure that the company has the capacity to achieve Zero Harm by actively identifying and reporting hazards using the sites hazard reporting system
* Other duties as required by your Supervisor / Manager.
About You
* Previous experience as a Truck operator or Nipper in an underground mining environment
* Good understanding of compliance and safety policies and procedures, as you build your level of knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
* Currently, hold Working at Heights, Senior First Aid and Dangerous Goods & Security Card.
* Hold a current WA "Manual Drivers License.
