The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Training Device Simulator Technician to support a world class strategic lift aircraft, the C-17 Globemaster.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general pre-operations, post-operations and component handling of training devices
- Perform maintenance, repair, test, installation, configuration, upgrade and modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software in accordance with approved maintenance documentation
- Assist in troubleshooting to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Work and contribute to BDA's Environment, Health & Safety Management System
- Contribute to the ongoing flight simulator qualification process for the Synthetic Training Devices
- Work a rotational shift pattern in support of training requirements
Requirements:
- Familiarity with aircraft flight and mission systems preferred, but not essential
- Certificate IV Aeroskills - Avionics MEA0618 or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience maintaining C-17 Globemaster electrical, instrument, navigation, communication and mission systems (desirable)
- IT background/skills (desirable)
- Minimum NV1 Security Clearance (essential)
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements
