We are seeking an individual who can develop novel and innovative technology approaches while ensuring that all exhibits comply with regulatory and compliance standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in interfacing off-the-shelf machine components via hardware/software, and writing higher-level software to coordinate control.
Experience building electronic and mechatronic devices that communicate with computers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PLCs).
Familiarity with circuit design, PCB layout tools (Altium or similar), and programming languages such as Python, C++, and LabVIEW.
Understanding of Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3820:2020, AS/NZS 3000:2018) and EESS requirements.
Ability to perform safety-limit calculations (shock risk, insulation requirements) and incorporate child-focused design considerations.
Knowledge of AC mains voltage wiring, relevant safety regulations, and electromagnetic interference mitigation techniques.
Skilled in constructing custom electronic circuits, soldering, fabrication, testing, and on-site installations.
Qualifications and Licences:
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in electrical engineering (LV and ELV systems) or a similar field.
National Police Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
