The Role
Join the Town of Port Hedland as Sustainability Officer and coordinate the advancement of the Town's environment, sustainability performance and implementation of the Sustainability Strategy. Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Services, you will:
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Town officers and other stakeholders that share responsibility for or have an interest in environment and sustainability performance.
* Prepare and deliver accurate and timely plans, policies and procedures that will support the Town in improving its operations from an environmental and sustainability perspective.
* Identify, apply for and secure funding for environmental and sustainability projects and programs
* Prepare information, presentations and reports for Council, its advisory groups, peak bodies, interest groups, landowners and the local community.
* Report on the Town's environmental and sustainability performance.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
* Tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental management, environmental science or any qualification where sustainability is a core deliverable
* Relevant experience in sustainability, or comparable, field
* National Police Clearance
* Current 'C' class drivers licence
* Rights to work in Australia
