Expertech is partnering with a high-growth fintech organisation that is building modern, digital-first finance solutions. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to own and evolve a scalable, enterprise-grade data platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will design and deliver a modern lakehouse architecture while guiding engineering standards and best practices across the data function. Responsibilities Design and implement a modern enterprise lakehouse platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Build and maintain a Medallion Architecture, including ingestion and CDC pipelines Develop enterprise semantic layers and advanced data models (Star/Snowflake schemas, SCDs) Own the data platform end-to-end, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability Provide technical leadership across architecture design, code quality, and delivery execution Mentor and support data engineers, promoting best practice engineering standards Transition the organisation from ad-hoc data processing to a governed, scalable data platform Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a senior or lead data engineering role Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and/or Databricks Deep understanding of modern data architectures, including lakehouse and Medallion patterns Experience designing and implementing enterprise data models and semantic layers Strong stakeholder communication and leadership capabilities Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments Desirable Skills & Experience Experience within fintech, financial services, or regulated environments Exposure to data governance frameworks and CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumption Experience scaling data platforms in growing organisations What's On Offer Opportunity to shape and own a modern data platform Work within a high-growth, innovative fintech environment Competitive salary package ESOP Flexible and collaborative working culture Opportunity to grow in to Head of Data This is an URGENT position with interviews taking place in the first week of January.
