is seeking a
Test Lead
with experience in
Java, Elasticsearch and SQL
for a Federal Government department with offices in the
ACT.
The role will manage testing activities for Departmental projects or services, leading a team of testers and providing high-level testing expertise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the software testing process to ensure overall product quality of testing effort and strategies.
* Designing, creating and executing test documentation.
* Providing regular reports on testing progress and software quality.
* Utilising a wide variety of testing tools, testing techniques and methodologies.
* Participating in testing activities such as scripting, execution, reviews, defect, matrix, when not otherwise occupied with Test Lead duties.
* Providing support and reporting outcomes, risks and issues to the Test Manager.
* Managing test teams.
* Participating in or facilitating meetings for internal testing operations and external workshops.
* Contributing to the enhancement of team culture and a positive workplace.
* Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders and developers to support portfolio and project outcomes.
Criteria
* Acceptance testing level 4
* Develops acceptance criteria related to functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, features, user stories and business rules. Designs, specifies and executes test cases and scenarios to test that systems, products and services fulfil the acceptance criteria and deliver the predicted business benefits. Collaborates with project colleagues and stakeholders involved in the analysis, development and operation of products, systems or services to ensure accuracy and comprehensive test coverage. Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues and risks including the work of others.
* Methods and tools level 4
* Provides advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools. Reviews and improves usage and application of methods and tools.
* Performance Management Level 4
* Provides operational direction, support and guidance to assigned colleagues. Allocates routine tasks or project work, in line with team objectives and individual capabilities. Monitors quality and performance against agreed criteria to make learning recommendations or to escalate concerns. Coaches colleagues in developing target skills and capabilities in line with team and personal goals. Facilitates effective working relationships between team members.
* Stakeholder relationship management level 4
* Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. Implements stakeholder engagement/communications plan. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management. Helps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships.
* Testing level 5
* Plans and drives testing activities across all stages and iterations of product, systems and service development. Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution. Adopts and adapts appropriate testing methods, automated tools and techniques to solve problems in tools and testing approaches. Measures and monitors applications of standards for testing. Assesses risks and takes preventative action. Identifies improvements and contributes to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for testing.
