**The Opportunity**
QIC Private Debt seeks to deliver market leading investment solutions to its clients through both its global Infrastructure Debt and its Multi-Sector Private Debt capabilities. Multi-Sector Private Debt targets core-plus and higher returns from investments in senior secured and subordinated or mezzanine tranches of loans to Australian and New Zealand borrowers.
The Multi-Sector Private Debt team invests across Corporate Leveraged Loans, Asset-Backed Securitisation ("ABS") and Real Estate debt, through a combination of investment bank arranged transactions and direct origination, managing the assets through to maturity. This role represents an important position in this initiative.
The Associate position will be primarily responsible for financial modelling, analytical work and asset management for current and new investment opportunities. This includes macro / market and sectoral research and individual investment due diligence and monitoring. Analytical, judgement, business writing, time management, and interpersonal skills are all required.
In addition to this you will also be responsible for delivering key tasks such as:
- Financial analysis (including financial modelling and forecasting, sensitivity and scenario analysis)
- Investment review and risk analysis
- Investment due diligence (including management meetings, review of materials, numerical analysis of investment performance, appointment and management of external consultants, preparation of Investment Recommendations, material legal agreement due diligence and negotiation)
- Monitor sector, market and economic conditions and assess their impact on current and prospective investments
- Assist with developing and building a cohesive and productive Multi-Sector Private Debt team and QIC Private Debt team
- Assist with the establishment of reporting and monitoring systems. Interact as required to maintain the operation of these systems
- Depending on the nature of the asset management or investment opportunity task, travel is likely to be required
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated skills such as strong numeric skills, particularly advanced skills in production, review and analysis of financial forecasting and modelling, advanced Excel and analytical skills and strong verbal, written, presentation and time management skills.
With approximately 3 years' experience working within a similar role, you will have proven capability & strengths spanning across areas such as:
- Due diligence and credit analysis skills - a strong commercial acumen and ability to identify and critically analyse key credit risks
- Ability to prepare structured business reports, interpreting complex material and make decisions based on imperfect information
- Ability to interact with senior management and external advisers to produce results and develop long-term productive relationships
- The ability to participate in projects, identify priorities, establishing time frames and complete or adjust where required
- Intermediate MS Office skills including Word and PowerPoint.
