ABOUT TOWNSVILLE COMMUNITY LAW
Townsville Community Law Inc is a non-profit, community-based organisation dedicated to providing free legal services to the community in North Queensland. Its objectives are:

* To provide crisis counselling and support and/or referral to appropriate agencies.
* To create an area in which the social welfare aspects of clients’ lives are recognised.

THE ROLE
This is a full-time (35 hours/week) role as an Intake Advocacy and Support Worker.
The usual focus of this position will be face-to-face and telephone first point-of-contact with clients, potential clients and other members of the public.
The successful applicant will assist Townsville Community Law to manage the intake/triage process, to provide personal support to clients including basic and preliminary counselling and mental health first aid, to undertake community development and community education activities, to advocate on behalf of clients in matters where legal skill or knowledge is not required, and to assist in other office tasks.
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
* Between Levels 3.1 and 4.4 of the Social Community Health and Disability Services Award 2010 ($76,376.56-$94,791.84 per annum) + superannuation + above Award entitlements. The pay level/pay point classification and pay rate are broad-banded depending on experience.
