Overview
CSL Behring is seeking a reliable and safety‐focused Utilities Operator to join our M2U Utilities team. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous, safe, and compliant supply of utilities supporting manufacturing operations within a cGMP pharmaceutical environment. We are looking for a motivated and well‐organized Operator with a strong safety mindset and hands‐on experience in plant or utilities operations. You will play a key role in supporting essential site utilities, including chemical, water, and effluent treatment systems. This is a site-based role in Broadmeadows.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and support monitoring of site utility systems to ensure continuity of services for manufacturing operations, including:
o Reagent systems (corrosives and flammables)
o Ethanol systems
o Centralized special water systems
o Effluent Treatment Plants and associated utilities
* Coordinate the ordering, receipt, processing, and sampling of bulk chemicals prior to release to Manufacturing
* Maintain the secure and reliable supply of chemicals to utilities and manufacturing areas across the site
* Manage chemical supply to centralized systems such as waters and boilers
* Maintain hygiene standards for RO and PWG units
* Work collaboratively with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams
* Perform safe operation, isolation, and recommissioning of utilities systems in accordance with statutory OH&S and site procedures
* Report spills, defects, or abnormal plant conditions to prevent unsafe situations
* Liaise with the Process Engineer Manager and engineering teams regarding plant issues and improvement opportunities
* Maintain accurate records and documentation, including reports required for regulatory compliance
* Maintain clean, safe, and compliant utilities areas

* Adhere to CSL's Quality Manual, Global Quality Policy, and Code of Responsible Business Practice
* Operate in accordance with cGMP, PIC/S and US FDA (21 CFR) requirements
* Comply with OH&S regulations, clearance to work systems and hazardous area controls
* Actively contribute to a strong health, safety, and environmental culture
Your Experience
* Completed VCE or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in plant operation and/or maintenance, ideally within bulk storage or chemical processing environments
* Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem‐solving skills
* Understanding of quality, hygiene, and compliance requirements in regulated manufacturing environments (desirable)
* Exposure to computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Desirable Experience
* Experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environments (GMP)
* Exposure to hazardous area operations
* Forklift license
* Basic computer literacy
