Levantine Hill Estate has been awarded the prestigious number three ranking in Australia in the 2025 Top Wineries of Australia Awards by The Real Review, one of the most objective and respected recognitions in the wine industry.Levantine Hill Estate operates a large single-site premium wine, tourism, and hospitality business in the Yarra Valley along the golden mile on Maroondah Highway in Coldstream. Only 55 minutes from Melbourne.The Estate has several events spaces, a flagship restaurant and cellar door, and soon to open 33 room hotel (currently under construction). Levantine Hill's hotel will be part of the Small Luxury Hotel collection.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a creative and energetic Head Chef who wants to elevate the culinary experience at Levantine Hill. Be part of our growth phase, working closely with the owners, to leave your mark on the restaurant menu and be part of the event experiences. You need to have an understanding of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavour profiles and adapting them to a modern Australia cuisine.This position forms part of the leadership team and is responsible for the entire food division at Levantine Hill.Weekend work in peak seasons is absolutely essential.A general overview of the core duties and responsibilities are set out below:Work with leadership team to ensure seamless integration of food offering with guest experience and front of house operations.Development of menu items across all our venues (restaurant, functions and events, and hotel breakfast).Direct the kitchen activities of LHE for the achievement of short- and long-term business /policy objectives.Prepare and present budgets, reports, forecasts and timelines in a timely manner.Source produce, attracting sponsorships and special deals through vendor management and networking with industry bodies etc.Manage the cost of goods (COGS) within company budget.Oversee food production and service for all restaurant outlets. Develop menus, food purchase specifications, recipes and tasting notes.Appoint and manage key personnel for the kitchen.Ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of production areas and employee appearance.Follow and implement the highest level of food quality standards.Relocation allowance available for the right candidate willing to move closer to work!Please send us some photos of the dishes you have created that you're most proud of.
