**Join our Neurology and Stroke Team as a Stroke Fellow**
The Neurology Department provides a service for inpatients and outpatients with disorders of brain, nerves and muscle.
**About the role**:
Reporting to the Head of Unit in Neurology this role will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to the Neurology Department patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.
Duties for the role will include:
- Being responsive to the expectations and needs of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues,
- Provide appropriate support, direction and training to trainee medical officers and medical students,
- Participating in programs designed to provide personal growth and development,
- Continuously reviewing existing practices and promoting change where required,
- Demonstrating appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to the Department of Health values and strategic directions.
This is a **single** vacancy, with **two** possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills, and capabilities.
**About you**:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award,
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in neurology,
- Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff,
- Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in neurology.
