Your Opportunity

The

Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line (SFSK)

is a critical statewide service providing guidance, referrals, and support for families and individuals concerned about the wellbeing and safety of children. Acting as a trusted point of contact, the service connects families with appropriate resources and supports, including referrals to other agencies or, where necessary, Child Safety Services for assessment.

As a Practice Manager within the Advice and Referral Line (ARL), you will take on a leadership role that is central to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive practice. Leading a team of Practice Leaders and Community Liaisons, you will provide mentorship, consultation, and high-level practice direction within the Signs of Safety and Tasmanian Wellbeing frameworks. This role requires you to navigate complex and sensitive scenarios while building strong partnerships with both government and non-government stakeholders.

With a focus on driving positive outcomes for children and families, you will play a key role in shaping the service's approach, fostering a collaborative culture, and contributing to statewide child safety objectives. Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional guidance, leadership, and supervision to ARL Practice Leaders and Community Liaisons, supporting them in their leadership and consultation with Advice and Referral Line workers, and nurturing a culture of reflective learning and high performance.
- Model leadership and ethical practice in alignment with the Signs of Safety Practice Principles and Child Safety Practice Framework.
- Offer expert consultation for complex cases, ensuring sound decision-making and practice excellence.
- Facilitate collaborative case reviews, and contribute to practice governance strategies, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring cohesive service delivery across agencies.
- Conduct staff training, mentoring, and professional development programs to strengthen team capability and resilience.
- Oversee operational planning, manage competing demands, and navigate complex scenarios to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and families.

Requirements for Success

With a substantial background in management in _Community Services and/or Mental Health_ sectors, you will be confident in your values-based leadership and assessment processes. Other requirements include:

- A tertiary qualification in Human Services or a related field, with substantial experience in child safety or human services.
- Proven experience in leading large teams and managing complex, multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, with experience in navigating partnerships across government and non-government sectors.
- High-level skills in supervision, mentorship, and clinical support, with a focus on staff wellbeing and development.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and decision-making abilities to address sensitive and high-pressure situations effectively.
- Full driver licence with no restrictions

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
