Overview
The Team: Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160-bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community. It provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania, providing opportunities for comprehensive learning and development.
The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and Dental services. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture and excellent clinical care within a supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between 0700 and 2230 seven days a week, with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements and on-call service overnight. NWRH Theatres have a dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs.
The Role
- Are you an experienced Perioperative Enrolled Nurse within Pre/Post Op Day Surgery, Scrub Scout, or highly experienced within an acute setting?
- We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive, supportive setting.
- Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Details of Appointment
Multiple permanent full-time and part time, shift-work (fully rotational) positions, up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Applicants should note the selection process may be used for subsequent or similar vacancies for twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata). Employer contributes 12% superannuation on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, allowances may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary packaging with benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year and other eligible benefits.

Eligibility

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
