Ultimately, the Bookkeeper's responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day finance transactions of the company.
**Responsibilities**
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
- Process monthly bank reconciliations
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Assist in the reconciliation of GST transactions
- Assist in the processing of monthly BAS
- Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
- Follow up unpaid invoices with customers
- Process and reconciliation of payroll transactions using Reckon Accounts
- Assist in rectifying basic accounting discrepancies
- Handle any ad-hoc duties required by manager
**Requirements and skills**
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Reckon Accounts software experience is a plus (but not nessesary as training will be provided)
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office especially Excel
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Fluent in Japanese and English
