We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Irrigation Technician to join our Fitzroy Macadamias team. In this hands-on and technical role, you’ll support the design, implementation, and maintenance of irrigation and automation systems to ensure the efficient delivery of water across a growing macadamia orchard.
Key Responsibilities:
As a valued member of the team and reporting to Irrigation Manager, you will:
* Collaborate with development and operational teams on irrigation design, installation, and automation projects
* Maintain irrigation infrastructure including pumps, filtration systems, motors, and delivery networks
* Assist in the supervision, training, and development of irrigation staff and contractors
* Conduct system reviews, ensure quality assurance, and maintain accurate records
* Support the implementation of irrigation programs that enhance tree health, yield, and efficiency
* Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes
Requirements
To be successful for this position, you will have:
* A current driver’s licence
* Relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications in irrigation or related fields (CAD qualifications highly regarded)
* Proven experience with irrigation systems, automation, surveying, and design
* Strong technical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
* Advanced computer literacy and experience using CAD software preferred
* Team-oriented, ethical, and proactive with strong interpersonal and communication skills
