As a Data Governance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and administering a robust data governance framework. Working within a regulated environment, you will create practical controls to reduce data risk while collaborating with business stakeholders to promote a culture of high integrity and smarter data solutions. What You Will Do:
Support the implementation and administration of the data governance and information management framework by creating practical controls to reduce data risk.Assist in the development and documentation of new data governance policies, standards, and guides to ensure organisational consistency.Support Data Owners and Custodians in the creation and curation of critical assets such as Business Glossaries and Data with business stakeholders to develop metrics and dashboards while providing education on data management procedures.Monitor data dictionaries and metadata while proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating data-related risks.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
A high-level understanding of data governance and information management concepts, specifically the DAMA DMBOK framework.Practical experience using Data Management and Data Governance tools such as Alex, Alation, Collibra, or in interrogating databases using SQL or similar tools to understand data quality and meaning.An understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and risk, including CPG235 and Australian Privacy Principles.Experience working within an APRA-regulated environment or the financial services sector is highly desirable.
