Our client, a prominent Government Consulting Firm, is seeking an experienced SNR Project Assurance Manager to join a dynamic Federal Government Audit team responsible for the audit & assurance of large-scale ICT, technical, and some business programs. This is a key strategic role, focusing on independent project and program assurance to ensure alignment with best practices, compliance standards, and overall program objectives.
The role requires strong experience in project auditing, governance, and technical risk management, providing insights and recommendations that directly influence executive decision-making on some of the government’s most complex and high-impact project/program initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead and conduct project and program assurance reviews across a portfolio of ICT/technical and some business program initiatives.
Assess compliance with project management frameworks (e.g., AGILE, WATERFALL, PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP), audit controls, and technical delivery milestones.
Provide strategic risk analysis and recommendations to senior executives and program boards.
Evaluate and report on delivery confidence, governance effectiveness, resourcing, and vendor performance.
Be familiar with concepts of program lifecycles, delivery risk, DevSecOps (advantageous), etc.
Contribute to the development and refinement of assurance frameworks and methodologies tailored to complex digital transformation projects.
Lead and oversee a team of audit professionals, coaching and guiding per client engagement.
About You
You are a detail-oriented and strategic thinker with a strong background in project and program audit or assurance, or a Project Manager with experience in assurance, particularly in IT or digital transformation within a complex environment.
You bring:
Proven experience delivering, auditing, or assuring large-scale ICT programs in government or regulated industries.
Experience with governance frameworks, risk assurance, or internal audit functions.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills – able to influence at ELT levels.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, Project Management, Audit, Risk, or a related field.
Exposure to COBIT, ISO, or ITIL highly regarded.
