About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support the delivery of complex ICT initiatives within a Federal Government environment. Operating at an EL1-equivalent level, this role will focus on designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions, primarily within Microsoft Azure environments.
You will play a key role in translating business requirements into robust technical designs, working closely with architecture, security, and delivery teams to support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, including emerging technologies such as AI and advanced data solutions.
Position: Cloud Solutions Architect – $800–$1,200/day + super
Location: ACT (Onsite)
Working Arrangement: Onsite (flexibility considered case-by-case)
Start Date: July 2026
Duration: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions

Key Responsibilities
* Design high-level and detailed architecture solutions for Azure-based environments
* Translate business and technical requirements into scalable cloud solutions (HLDs and DLDs)
* Develop and maintain reusable architecture patterns and standards
* Implement and support Azure cloud services across enterprise environments
* Build and manage Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD frameworks
* Design and configure Azure networking including hybrid and cloud-native architectures
* Collaborate with enterprise architects, cyber security teams, and cloud engineers
* Ensure alignment with security frameworks including ISM, Essential Eight, and OWASP
* Support design governance processes and secure architecture approvals
* Contribute to solution design across AI, data, integration, and API-based systems
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to delivery teams
* Work effectively in Agile delivery environments with minimal supervision
About You
* Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect or Senior Cloud Engineer within Federal Government environments
* Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including architecture design and implementation
* Proven experience developing HLD and DLD documentation for cloud solutions
* Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
* Solid understanding of Azure networking including hybrid architectures and ingress patterns
* Experience applying security frameworks such as ISM, Essential Eight, and OWASP
* Ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including security and enterprise architecture teams
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
* Experience across broader cloud technologies such as AI/ML, data platforms, and integration services (desirable)
* Ability to work independently in Agile environments with limited supervision
* Must be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
* Must have valid working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen or long-term visa holders only; no sponsorship available)
