**The Role**
Responsibilities of the Data Analyst may include:
- Application of specialist technical and/or statistical skills to conduct complex analysis of employment service program data, develop performance measures and conduct data definition and derivation activities.
- Manage and support data and performance related projects.
- Develop and deliver reporting products to assist with the dissemination of performance information to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and contribute to written material, including official performance briefs, technical specification and process documents, analytical reports and governance papers.
- Liaise with business areas to understand specific business requirements and the intended use of the performance measure, report or analytical product.
- Supervise junior staff members within the team (APS6 level only).
**Skills and Capabilities**
We are seeking two (2) individuals with the following skills and capabilities:
- Experience extracting and manipulating large administrative datasets using SAS, SQL, Qlik Sense or similar.
- A demonstrated ability to solve problems and think critically in data analysis, particularly around the suitability of data sources with respect to the intended data use or output.
- Project or task management skills and experience, particularly in relation to data, research or quantitative analysis.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing databases and reporting processes would be advantageous.
**The Opportunity**
This position is available to Ongoing APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 12 months.
