We are a rapidly growing clinic with a busy and interesting caseload. Our Medicine team consists of experienced clinicians and support staff who work closely with specialist surgery and emergency departments, promoting employee wellbeing, satisfaction, and retention.
The Role
Responsibilities
This exciting opportunity will extend and advance your nursing career. As the Medicine Head Nurse, you will be responsible for:
* Coordinating daily operations and tasks in the medicine department through clear communication with senior members
* Care of hospitalised patients and outpatients, assisting with sample collection, sedation, preparation, restraint, and anaesthesia for further diagnostics
* Daily communication with clients and referring veterinarians
* Optimising appointment scheduling and procedures throughout the week
* Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital with the senior nurses in other departments
* Supervising and growing the medicine nursing staff
* Coordinating the medicine nursing roster
* Monitoring stock levels of medicine-only consumables
* Equipment maintenance
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have a Cert IV or higher in veterinary nursing. You should be professional, genuine, and personable, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Previous referral hospital experience is preferred but not essential; we can help you develop your leadership skills.
