Job Description
Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.
Support tax planning initiatives to optimise the organisation's financial position.
Manage GST and BAS submissions accurately and on time.
Provide advice on tax-related matters to internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to maintain accurate records.
Assist in audits and liaise with external tax advisors as required.
Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and their implications for the business.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Tax Specialist should have:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in tax compliance and planning within the retail industry or a similar sector.
Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, including GST and BAS reporting.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly.
Certification such as CPA or CA (or working towards) is highly regarded.
