Position: Senior Project Engineer – Building Construction
Location: Darwin, NT
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivering building construction projects. This role focuses on large-scale industrial and hangar projects, particularly those involving complex steel structures. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and budget objectives are met.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage building construction projects from design through to completion, with a focus on hangars and large industrial structures.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
* Oversee structural steel fabrication and installation, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
* Prepare and review project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, risk assessments, and quality plans.
* Ensure adherence to WHS standards, site safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and site personnel.
* Manage project budgets, track costs, and support commercial and contractual activities.
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in building construction, with a strong focus on hangar or large industrial projects.
* Extensive experience with steel structures, including design, fabrication, and construction oversight.
* Proven ability to manage large, complex projects, including multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
* Strong knowledge of project management processes, construction methods, and quality standards.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualifications.
* Current construction induction (White Card) and any other statutory requirements for NT sites.
Desirable
* Experience in Defence, aviation, or large-scale industrial construction projects.
* Experience with project management software and tools for scheduling, reporting, and cost control.
