Due to strong organic growth, we are seeking a coastal modeller to join our team. This
would be based in our Brisbane Office, Australia.
About JBP and the JBA Group
We are experts in natural disasters, dedicated to working on the worlds extreme weather-
related problems. Our coastal team works throughout the coastal zone, supporting disaster
risk reduction studies and engineering projects for communities living on the coast. We use
advanced modelling and climate data to understand coastal hazards, impacts and forces
now and in the future.
JBP are the Australia-Pacific arm of the international, employee-owned JBA Group. Our
coastal team works alongside our offices in Singapore, Cambodia and Europe, and pride
ourselves in our internal research and development, the support we give to local
universities ) and internationally through the JBA Trust
).
We're a forward-thinking, people-centric organisation that recognises the importance of
working as one team towards a common goal. As a successful and growing employee-
owned business, we recognise and reward the contributions of our people and provide real
opportunities and pathways for career progression. All company ownership remains with
our employees, with profits shared back through an employee ownership trust.
Sustainability is integral to our long-term success. It's a core aim of JBP (and JBA) to have a
positive impact on our colleagues, clients, suppliers, and the local communities and
environments in which we work. We're committed to applying a principles-based approach
to business, incorporating The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, and actively
contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To help us achieve these
aims, we champion sustainability within all our operations and client services. We effectively
promote sustainability in all our practices, operations, and business planning.
As a business, we're probably more aware than most of the impacts of sea level rise, land
use change, habitat loss, soil and water degradation, and climate change. We recognise that
we're in a climate and ecological emergency and are committed to taking meaningful action
to minimise the environmental impacts of our operations and activities. This shapes our
company focus on extreme weather and natural disasters.
