Role Responsibilities
* Management of all outbound freight whether by our own assets and resources or by suppliers/vendors/subcontractors.
* Execute all aspects of people management; performance reviews, leave management, timesheets, etc.
* Of high importance is creating and fostering a healthy, inclusive culture, aimed at developing team members, inspiring excellence, collaboration and high performance.
* Implementation of industry best-practice methods, tools, and systems to provide high-level route optimisation, vehicle tracking and customer coordination.
* Managing, distributing, and maintaining the daily delivery schedules to ensure DIFOT to all customers, internal and external.
* Development of procedures and training of team members to deliver a high-quality, professional service with elements of value-add including product staging, semi-installation, and more.
* Management of our commercial vehicle fleet including Trucks, Utes, and Vans.
* Ensuring at all times, our Logistics practices are compliant with all applicable laws, industry guidelines and codes of practice, including HVNL and CoR.
* Applying our safety management systems in all Logistics activities and to seek continuous improvement in safety with prevention of incident and mitigation of risk at the heart.
* Develop and implement a suite of critical KPIs for Logistics activities that drive a continuous improvement mindset and a culture of accountability among all stakeholders.
* Managing costs in line with agreed budgets for the department, including wages, and any external vendor/contractor costs.
Requirements
* A clear and demonstrable understanding of Management, Coordination and Accountability for the areas outlined in the Roles & Responsibilities of the role.
* Good IT systems skills including the use of MS Excel (or equivalent) and management reporting experience including financial and performance KPI's.
* Strong and proven people-leadership abilities, a must.
* A strong planner/scheduler who can direct and coordinate activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a relentless focus on customer service and satisfaction.
* Level-headed and methodical with the ability to operate well under pressure and possesses a systematic approach to problem solving and conflict resolution.
* Hands-on and always willing to get involved and be part of the solution.
